Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Avondale Park School and our school website.

Avondale Park School is a large primary school serving a multi-ethnic community in the heart of North Kensington and since September 2014 we have been federated with St Anne’s Nursery School. Please click here for federation home page.

Avondale Park is an aspirational and dynamic two-form entry school. Our belief is that children are entitled to the highest quality teaching, an ambitious and exciting curriculum, a stimulating learning environment and a safe and caring place in which learning is of the highest quality. We ensure appropriate challenge and support so that all our children achieve their best – emotionally and academically. Visitors are struck by our confident expressive children who are engaged in their learning and proud of their achievements - as well as the friendly and hardworking atmosphere created by staff, pupils and parents.

We have two classes in each year group, with about 30 children per class. There are 26 teaching staff including the Head and Deputy Headteacher and 41 30 non-teaching staff. We pride ourselves as teachers on aiming continually to develop and improve our teaching in order to make learning accessible and exciting for all pupils.

We are fortunate to have lots of space with excellent facilities, including 2 computer suites, interactive whiteboards in each classroom, two sports halls, and developing playgrounds.

As your child’s first teacher, you will be aware of your child's needs, strengths and weaknesses and we hope to build upon that experience through a strong home – school partnership. We are happy to discuss our approach to education with parents and hope that they will continue to be involved in their children’s education throughout their school career.

We look forward to meeting you. Please phone for an appointment.
Best wishes, Katy Blackler - Headteacher.

Latest News

Parent/ Teacher consultations phone calls
Thank you for being ready and waiting to take your calls this week when your child’s teacher called you. Our teachers have reported really positive conversations with so many of you and it is brilliant to hear how hard you are working to support your children in their learning at home. Please use the Knowledge Organisers sent home as a means of reminding or helping your child in their basic skills and also please check any learning sent home through SeeSaw.

Attendance
Children are expected to attend every day during this lockdown as long as they are healthy and well. Therefore, please follow the usual procedures if your child has a normal childhood illness, or the Covid procedures if they have one of the three symptoms for Covid-19 – i.e., a temperature, a new and continuous cough or a loss of taste or smell.
If your child is ill please inform the school office or email info@apsafederation.com each day that your child is absent from school.

If you wish to contact the school please do so at info@apsafederation.com.
