Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Avondale Park School and our school website.

Avondale Park School is a large primary school serving a multi-ethnic community in the heart of North Kensington and since September 2014 we have been federated with St Anne’s Nursery School. Please click here for federation home page.

Avondale Park is an aspirational and dynamic two-form entry school. Our belief is that children are entitled to the highest quality teaching, an ambitious and exciting curriculum, a stimulating learning environment and a safe and caring place in which learning is of the highest quality. We ensure appropriate challenge and support so that all our children achieve their best – emotionally and academically. Visitors are struck by our confident expressive children who are engaged in their learning and proud of their achievements - as well as the friendly and hardworking atmosphere created by staff, pupils and parents.

We have two classes in each year group, with about 25 children per class. There are 26 teaching staff including the Head and Deputy Headteacher and 41 30 non-teaching staff. We pride ourselves as teachers on aiming continually to develop and improve our teaching in order to make learning accessible and exciting for all pupils.

We are fortunate to have lots of space with excellent facilities, including 2 computer suites, interactive whiteboards in each classroom, ...read more

Thank you to everyone whohas supported our Red Clothes Day for Comic Relief. Everyone wore something red, there were some cracking jokes in our assemblies and of course our dance in the playground to ‘Dancing in the street’ was a great start to the day.. At the time of writing we have raised £481.Well done and thank you.
We have been asked to inform parents that the Home Office will be launching a national fire safety campaign which will air on TV, radio and digital media today. The campaign aims to raise awareness of everyday fire risks that are present in the home, and encourage all householders in England to test their smoke alarms regularly. Children and adults in our community may find scenes upsetting so I remind you that the Grenfell Health and Wellbeing Service is available for advice at all times – email: grenfell.wellbeingservice@nhs.net Also, of course, do talk to us and we will always try to provide any support that we can.
Daisy’s Y4 Class presented an excellent assembly this week with a very important message about re-cycling. We were welcomed to a ‘Rubbish Assembly’ and children described how we could help to save our planet by ‘reducing, reusing and recycling’ They gave us some shocking facts about waste but also showed how we can make a difference by recycling and reusing sensibly. Children spoke with confidence and expression , and in spite of it being about a serious subject, there was lots of humour. Well done everyone!
