Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Avondale Park School and our school website.

Avondale Park School is a large primary school serving a multi-ethnic community in the heart of North Kensington and since September 2014 we have been federated with St Anne’s Nursery School. Please click here for federation home page.

Avondale Park is an aspirational and dynamic two-form entry school. Our belief is that children are entitled to the highest quality teaching, an ambitious and exciting curriculum, a stimulating learning environment and a safe and caring place in which learning is of the highest quality. We ensure appropriate challenge and support so that all our children achieve their best – emotionally and academically. Visitors are struck by our confident expressive children who are engaged in their learning and proud of their achievements - as well as the friendly and hardworking atmosphere created by staff, pupils and parents.

We have two classes in each year group, with about 25 children per class. There are 26 teaching staff including the Head and Deputy Headteacher and 41 30 non-teaching staff. We pride ourselves as teachers on aiming continually to develop and improve our teaching in order to make learning accessible and exciting for all pupils.

We are fortunate to have lots of space with excellent facilities, including 2 computer suites.......read more

Latest News
The governors of Avondale Park and St Anne’s Federation of Schools met last week to discuss the performance of the school and its pupils. Katy began by giving us a full report on life at the school covering staffing, leadership, management, curriculum, achievements, attendance and behaviour. There is always a lot for the governors to take in because the schools are such busy and productive learning environments.
We heard updates from the premises and finance committees as well as safeguarding which is always of paramount importance. We also heard that Avondale Extra has begun a big fundraising drive in the local area in a bid to be able to continue to support the school in all its varied ways such as class outings, school clubs and the breakfast club.
After half term, each of the governors has been assigned an area within the school (such as a subject or SEN or safeguarding) to visit and assess, and then report to the next Governing Body Meeting in June. This is one of the ways in which the governors challenge the Avondale leadership team and hold them accountable for the running of your wonderful school.
All the governors would like to wish you a very happy half term break!
Wishing all our families a restful Half Term - see you on Monday 3rd June. Just so that families are aware, we will be holding a memorial event for the second anniversary of the Grenfell Fire on Friday 14th June at 9.15am.
