Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Avondale Park School and our school website.

Avondale Park School is a large primary school serving a multi-ethnic community in the heart of North Kensington and since September 2014 we have been federated with St Anne’s Nursery School. Please click here for federation home page.

Avondale Park is an aspirational and dynamic two-form entry school. Our belief is that children are entitled to the highest quality teaching, an ambitious and exciting curriculum, a stimulating learning environment and a safe and caring place in which learning is of the highest quality. We ensure appropriate challenge and support so that all our children achieve their best – emotionally and academically. Visitors are struck by our confident expressive children who are engaged in their learning and proud of their achievements - as well as the friendly and hardworking atmosphere created by staff, pupils and parents.

We have two classes in each year group, with about 25 children per class. There are 26 teaching staff including the Head and Deputy Headteacher and 41 30 non-teaching staff. We pride ourselves as teachers on aiming continually to develop and improve our teaching in order to make learning accessible and exciting for all pupils.

We are fortunate to have lots of space with excellent facilities, including 2 computer suites, interactive whiteboards in each classroom, two sports halls, and developing playgrounds.

As your child’s first teacher, you will be aware of your child's needs, strengths and weaknesses and we hope to build upon that experience through a strong home – school partnership. We are happy to discuss our approach to education with......read more

Thank you to all those who contributed sweet and savoury items on Thursday for our Book and Bake Sale. There were some delicious looking treats and a roaring trade was done. In addition, many books were sold at our second hand book sale and I am delighted that lots of children will have a new book for the holidays! The grand total raised was £190.36 so thank you to everyone who contributed in both the buying and the selling. In particular, thank you to the Parent Rep Group and to Rebecca for their organisation

I can’t believe that another term has gone by and we have reached April already. Whilst the temperature outside has plummeted and soared, I can report that the learning in school has remained constantly at a high! I am in such a fortunate position to see what is happening in all classes – from the focus of ‘Once upon a time’ in the nursery to preparing for SATs in Year 6- and I never cease to be inspired. Trips have included Kidzania, Hampton Court and London Zoo; and visitors to school have brought in exotic animals as well as exciting dance and drama. Hard work = tired children so I do hope that you all manage to have a wonderful holiday. Happy Easter to those who are celebrating; and we look forward to seeing you on the first day of term on Tuesday 23rd April. Please note, this is the day after Easter Monday and we do not have an Inset Day.
